Fair and Smart Data webinar – Create a Better World on a Liveable Planet
The Fair and Smart Data (FSD) spearhead held on December 8th 2021 its first Webinar titled “Fair and Smart Data – Create a Better World on a Liveable Planet.”
Ron Cörvers hosted the webinar, leading the conversation with prominent expert panellists Peter Møllgaard (Maastricht University), Jeroen Douglas (Solidaridad), Emma van de Ven (Rabobank), and Nik Baerten (Pantopicon). The panellists covered in their presentations many topics ranging from climate change and mitigation policies, smallholder farmers and supply chains, markets for agroecosystem services, and innovative digital platforms and technologies.
The panel presentations and discussions were followed by three workshops where the webinar’s attendees got the opportunity to exchange their ideas and insights on questions such as: what is a sustainable income for smallholders; how to deliver more value to smallholders in global value chains; and what can multinationals do to improve living conditions of smallholders? The webinar was well attended by researchers, students and other professionals.
