Ambassador Dren Doli on The Duality and the Transformation of Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue into an Enlargement Mechanism
On 27 May 2026, the Maastricht Centre for Human Rights had the pleasure of hosting His Excellency Dren Doli, Ambassador of Kosovo to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, for an Ambassador Lecture entitled “From EU Mediation to EU Conditionality: The duality and the transformation of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue into an enlargement mechanism.”
In his lecture, Ambassador Doli examined how the EU-facilitated Kosovo–Serbia dialogue has evolved from a diplomatic initiative into a central element of EU accession conditionality. He traced this development through the principal agreements concluded between the parties and reflected on the legal and political challenges arising from this conditionality framework. His remarks were followed by a lively and engaging discussion with students and colleagues.
The Ambassador Lecture Series, convened by Dr Fabián Raimondo under the auspices of the Maastricht Centre for Human Rights, continues to provide a platform for dialogue between the diplomatic and academic communities on pressing issues of international concern.
