Mirela participated as co-organizer of the 2018 IEEE Conference on Computational Intelligence and Games (CIG), as organizer of the Smart Indoor Event and Activity Recognition Workshop (SIEARW) in conjunction with AVSS 2017, co-organizer of the Women in Data Science (WiDs) Conference in Maastricht in 2022 and co-chaired the Applications in AI track at ICT.OPEN in 2024. Additionally, she serves as a reviewer in many international conferences and highly ranked journals.
