Marcin Pietrasik (M.)
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Advanced Computing Sciences (DACS) at Maastricht University. Since joining the department, I have focused on applying digital solutions to industrial settings, especially within the chemical process industry. Before joining Maastricht University, I completed my PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.
My research vision centres around developing intelligent systems for automating operations in smart manufacturing. Specifically, I am interested in how knowledge representation and reasoning can enhance machine learning and deep learning techniques. To further this vision, I am working closely with industry on topics such as predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and digital twinning.
