Hannah de Korte (J.A.H.)

Hannah de Korte is a Joint PhD candidate at KU Leuven (Belgium) and Maastricht University (NL) since April 2023. She analyzes the environmental history of colonial malaria control in the Belgian Congo, focusing on how the development of ecological understandings of disease transmissions shaped colonial interventions in the landscape.

 

Hannah completed her BA and Research MA in History and the Humanities Honours Programme at Utrecht University and participated in an exchange to the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.

 

Over the years, Hannah was a research assistant in research projects at several institutes and organizations, among which the International Institute for Social History (IISH), Stichting Natuur & Milieu and Utrecht University.

 

Before her PhD, Hannah worked as a project manager at NWO Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH).
