Gemma van Ruitenbeek (G.M.C.)
Gemma van Ruitenbeek is working as researcher at the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience. She is currently working on a PhD project on the validation of the Maastricht Work Capacity Monitor, an instrument that helps to support employees who are unable to participate in the current labour market independently. Next to that, she is the managing director of the Centre of Expertise for Inclusive Organisations (CIAO). CIAO is an institute of Maastricht University and is founded in cooperation with the Dutch Social security Fund (UWV). CIAO offers a platform of knowledge to all parties working professionally towards promoting sustainable participation in the labour market, both for those working and those searching for jobs, and especially those who are not able to participate in the current labour market independently.
Her expertise is twofold:
- directed at (re)organise work in such a way that both for those working and those searching for a job, can participate sustainable in work;
- directed at monitoring van de work capacity those who are not able to participate in the current labour market independently.
Gemma is since 2010 employed at the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience. Her research and work is directed at sustainable inclusive organizations.
In 2009 she gained her Master degree in heath Science, in the discipline Work and Health, at the Faculty of Health Medicine and Life Sciences.
Previous to that, she gained extensive knowledge and experience in the relation between work and health and the dynamics on the labour market as consultant work and health and as a manager at a an agency for temporary employment.
