Last Square Day of the Century
-
On 25 September 2025, MCM organised a meeting celebrating the last square day of the century at SBE.
Three talks were given by Maastricht University researchers. Dávid Ferenczi (SBE, DAD) presented a probabilistic approach to reconstructing positive and negative social relationships from observed interaction patterns. Matus Mihalak (FSE, DACS) spoke about shortest-path algorithms for electric vehicles, where routes must be both short and energy-feasible. Gideon Koekoek (FSE, GWFP) discussed black hole horizons and the possibility of alternative spacetime manifolds in general relativity. The meeting concluded with a reception at the Kruithuis.
