EpiLipidNET Training School: Data Analysis Techniques for preprocessed Lipidomics data

-

Overview of Training School

Goal: to provide training (theoretical and practical) for Early Career Researchers (ECR) in applying various data analysis techniques to their processed lipidomics data.

Fast Facts:

  • Face-to-face training school, early career researchers (max. 15)
  • Applying various data analysis techniques to processed lipidomics data
  • Previous data analysis or programming skills are NOT required
  • Registration is open now. Registration deadline: 13 March 2024; Notification of acceptance: 15 March 2024

Organization: The school is organized as a 3-day event, including various educational and training activities. The data analysis techniques include matching significantly changed lipids (species and individual entities) to molecular pathways and extending relevant pathways with knowledge from other relevant databases using network approaches. This training school will be concluded with a ‘Bring-Your-Own-Data’ (BYOD) session (including other omics data to be connected with lipidomics), allowing researchers to practice their newly learned skills. All teaching materials will be made available after the Training School as an Open Education Resource (OER).

Teachers:

  • Martina Summer-Kutmon, Systems Biology (Maastricht University), pathway and network analysis, relevant publication
  • Egon Willighagen, Bioinformatics (Maastricht University), cheminformatics, relevant publication
  • Denise Slenter, Bioinformatics (Maastricht University), metabolomics data analysis, relevant publication
  • Noemi Tejera Hernandez, Scientific Database Curator at Metabolights (EBI), FAIR metabolomics datasets, relevant publication
  • Michael Witting,

Co-Head Metabolomics and Proteomics Core (

Technical University of Munich), lipid model organisms, relevant publication

  • Matthew Conroy,

    Biocurator,

LIPID MAPS and Cardiff University, lipid chemistry, relevant publication

Costs: Attending this training school is free of charge (registration is mandatory). Participants who are part of the EpiLipidNet consortium are eligible to receive funding for travel, subsistence, and visas.
