Abafazi
Abafazi is a group of strong South African women, who tell their life stories through the power of music.

Traditionally, the African drum and the melodious marimba are instruments played mainly by men, but the colourful and talented women of Abafazi have succeeded in turning that stereotypical image upside down. They are presenting an energetic, dynamic performance of well-known African hits, their own compositions, dynamic choreography, fabulous colourful costumes, wonderful voices and a wide range of African dance styles.
In South Africa, these ‘abafazi’ (translated literally as women) are well-known faces. For instance, they accompanied Shakira at the kick-off of the 2012 World Cup, and they took part in the opening of the Olympic Games in China.
