E.A.M. Sandström

Edith is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in M4i under Dr. Ian Anthony and Dr. Sebastiaan van Nuffel. Her study involves developing the technique of fast mass microscopy (FMM), which enables speeding up MSI more than 1,000 times, for the application to MSI-based immunohistochemistry (IHC) samples.

Career history

Edith Sandström completed her PhD degree at the School of Chemistry of the University of Edinburgh in 2022 focused on the development of non- and minimally-invasive methods for dye analysis of historical textiles. She obtained her MChem degree in Chemistry from the University of York in 2018, after  conducting her Master thesis project at the Institute of Earth Sciences at Universität Heidelberg
