Do you plan on driving to the UM (from abroad) every day? Do you live in Maastricht and own a car? Then the UM and the Municipality of Maastricht have several parking options for you.
Free parking in Randwyck
You can park for free in Randwyck! UM has a large car park at the Sorbonnelaan, which offers free parking 24/7 to everyone with a UMcard.
Driving to the UM from abroad every day?
If you do not live in Maastricht and regularly commute between Maastricht and your home abroad, you can buy a parking permit for around €70 a year (€5 per month plus a one-time administration fee of €15). You can use this permit to park in certain areas near the UM buildings from Monday through Friday.
Are you a Maastricht resident and do you own a car?
If you live in a paid parking area, you can request a standard parking permit from the municipality if the car is registered in your name. More information about applying for the standard parking permit can be found on the website of the Municipality of Maastricht.
Free parking at 'Maastricht Noord' railway station
You can also park for free at the car park (P&R) that recently opened at Maastricht Noord railway station, near the A79 (Aachen-Maastricht) motorway exit. Parking is free of charge 24/7. A shuttle bus or train departs to the city centre every 15 minutes and is free of charge if you have a student travel product ('studentenreisproduct' from DUO).
