A. Anand

Akshay works on building the data and evidence-based knowledge needed to support Limburg’s circular transition. His work contributes to the development of collating central and regional data infrastructures, and systemic analyses that help clarify material flows, transition pathways, and the broader socio-economic implications of circularity. He is particularly interested in how data can be made policy-relevant and action-oriented, and how analytical tools can support collaboration between public institutions, knowledge partners, and regional stakeholders.

With academic training in architecture, geomatics, and urban planning, Akshay holds Master’s degrees in Geomatics and Space Applications and second masters in Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation, specializing in Urban Planning and Management. He is currently bringing to completion his doctoral research on regional ecological governance, examining peri-urban lake ecosystems through the lens of actor interactions, institutional change, and shifting normative orders around land and water. This interdisciplinary background continues to shape his work at ERCE, where he combines spatial analysis, systems thinking, and data-driven approaches to support more coherent and regionally grounded circular economy strategies.
