A. Haspel, LLM
Ann-Sophie Haspel is a PhD fellow at Maastricht Institute for Legal Education. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University College Roosevelt in Middelburg, the Netherlands. In 2019 she graduated cum laude in Social Sciences with a focus on psychology and law, and a minor in statistics.
Following her bachelor’s, she attended the LL.M Forensics, Criminology and Law at Maastricht University, where she successfully concluded the Masters Honours Research Track and graduated in 2020.
In 2022 she started as a research intern for the NSCR & VU, and became a criminology tutor at the Erasmus School of Law.
Ann-Sophie is currently writing her PhD on the quality of legal education at Dutch universities, including what kind of jurist it produces, under the supervision of Dr. Nicole Kornet and Prof. Sjoerd Claessens. As her goal is to establish a holistic evaluation of the current education provided, she makes use of descriptive, historical and normative methods.
