Marta Santos Silva co-edits large book on the legal impact of coronavirus

This collection of more than 50 chapters by more than 80 reputed European scholars and practitioners is intended to serve as a “toolbox” for domestic and European judges, who will soon be dealing with the interpretation of coronavirus- and COVID19-related legislation and administrative measures, as well as the disruption the pandemic has caused on society and fundamental rights. Additionally, this book is aimed at assisting businesses and citizens, who wish to be informed about the implications of the virus in the existence, performance, and enforcement of their contracts.

This large academic endeavour includes both national and European perspectives and provides an overview of several legal disciplines. The project has been registered in the World Pandemic Research Network.

In addition to the co-Editors, the Editorial team was integrated by eleven assistants. Among these were the Maastricht University undergraduates Henriikka Malmi and Laura Zsarnai, the youngest in a team mainly integrated by doctoral and postdoctoral members from the Catholic University of Milan, University Pompeu Fabra, University of Vienna and Jagiellonian University.

The e-book, whose print version is planned for early Spring 2021 (ISBN 978-1-83970-082-8) is currently freely accessible

 Marta Santos Silva will co-present the book at the Book Launch at the European Law Institute’s Annual Conference on September 11.
