The EU Green Deal and the Future of the Modern Corporation - Elverding webinar

-

On 9 October Maastricht University will host an online webinar and debate session dedicated to the European Green Deal and the future role of modern corporations.

The online event will be moderated by the Elverding chairholders on ‘“Sustainable Business, Culture and Corporate Regulation’”: Rob Bauer and Mieke Olaerts. The Elverding chair is sponsored by amongst others DSM, Q-Park, De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and ING.

Info

In December 2019, The European Commission presented ‘The European Green Deal – a roadmap for making the EU's economy sustainable’. Companies inevitable play an important part in making this transition possible. The future role of the modern corporation in society is widely discussed in academia as well as in corporate practice leading to questions such as: what is the purpose of the corporation? How can institutional investors support companies’ long-term value creation?

The goal of this online event is to discuss how modern corporations can contribute to achieving a sustainable European future. Diederik Samson and John Kay will give keynote introductions after which we will enter into a debate with a number of CEOs and the two speakers.
