Can we find God in our Brain?
More and more people are looking for spiritual experiences and a higher reality. But what is real? And does this question really matter?
Neuroscientist and ex-believer Michiel van Elk put aside his scepticism and started his field research into paranormal fairs and denominations. He shows that man has a deep-rooted predisposition to experience religion and that this offers all kinds of advantages.
His research into the effects of the God Helmet at Festival Lowlands attracted a great deal of interest both in the Netherlands and abroad. He recently published his book Ecstasy, about this helmet and other religious experiments.
