Ambassador Lecture Series: Lilianne Ploumen and Bert Koenders.

On Tuesday March 7, Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Lilianne Ploumen and Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Bert Koenders will be visting UM for a 1 hour Q&A session.

Mrs. Ploumen is the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. She has recently been in the spotlight after launching ‘She Decides’, a global fundraising initiative set up to in response to a decree signed by US President Donald Trump. His order, also known as the Mexico City policy, prohibits federal funding to groups and organisations that support abortion.

In an interactive Q & A session, the Minister will address why it is important to support women all over the world in making decisions for family planning and her decision to launch the fund 'She Decides'. The minister will also address the challenges of migration in the Europe of today. Mr. Bert Koenders (TBC)– Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations will join the discussion subject to ending prior commitments on time.
