The cultural open method of coordination: A new boost for European cultural policies?

A one-day conference entitled ‘The cultural open method of coordination: A new boost for European cultural policies?’ will take place on 20 June 2016 in Brussels. The conference aims to bring together scholars, policy-makers, the cultural and creative sectors, and civil society in order to discuss and assess the use of the open method of coordination in the field of culture. Key topics that will be covered are: the origins of the cultural OMC, its configuration, its operationalisation in a broad range of culture-related areas, and its impact on national and European cultural policies. The event is organised in the framework of the OPENCULT research project  and benefits from funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration. The conference will take place at UM Campus Brussels, Avenue de l’Armée 10, 1040 Brussels. Participants need to register.
