Farewell lecture Prof. Dr. Phedon Nicolaides
On 5 February 2025, MCEL Member Prof. Dr. Phedon Nicolaides delivered his valedictorian lecture entitled “Why Should We Trust Them? The European Central Bank in the Age of Digital Money.” A recording of the lecture is available here. Professor Nicolaides will continue his academic engagement as Emeritus Professor and MCEL Member at Maastricht University.
On this occasion, several MCEL members and colleagues presented him with the book ‘Beyond Boundaries: Liber Amicorum Phedon Nicolaides’ (Lexxion 2026), edited by Alessandro Cuomo, Anne Pieter van der Mei, Sarah Schoenmaekers and Ellen Vos.
