Ambassador François Alabrune on Current Challenges to International Justice

Ambassador Lecture Series

On 29 April 2026, the Maastricht Centre for Human Rights had the pleasure of hosting His Excellency François Alabrune, Ambassador of France to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, for an Ambassador Lecture entitled “Current Challenges to International Justice.”

In his lecture, Ambassador Alabrune reflected on the current challenges facing international justice, with particular attention to the role of the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice in an increasingly complex geopolitical environment. His remarks were followed by a lively and engaging discussion with students and colleagues.

The Ambassador Lecture Series, convened by Dr Fabián Raimondo under the auspices of the Maastricht Centre for Human Rights, continues to provide a platform for dialogue between the diplomatic and academic communities on pressing issues of international concern.
