Statistics consultation hour for WESP students as of 1 September 2025

Medical students who need help with their power or sample size calculation can contact the secretariat of the Department of Methodology and Statistics to request statistical support with this calculation. Edith will then forward you to one of the available statisticians.

Due to budget cuts, we can offer a maximum of one hour per student. Therefore, the following conditions apply to this “statistics consultation hour”:

• Only questions regarding power or sample size calculation are allowed. Questions about the choice or interpretation of statistical analyses are not allowed, for this you should consult your WESP supervisor(s).
   
• Proof must be provided that the WESP supervisor has approved the content of the protocol, particularly the study design and research questions. Either the supervisor accompanies you to the appointment with the statistician or confirms their approval to the statistician by email.
   
• The information required for the calculation must be emailed to the statistician in advance. Please see the document outlining which details are needed. Fill this in as completely as possible together with your supervisor(s).
