UM during the City Parade organised by the Municipality of Maastricht
On 13 September 2026, Maastricht University will take part in the City Parade organised by the Municipality of Maastricht. UM will contribute to the ‘Science’ tableau. A large greenhouse will be set up at Mosae Forum, where you can participate in a range of science-based activities, including UM’s Smart Supermarket Lab.

The smart Supermarket Lab
This interactive exhibition has been created with scientific input from all of Maastricht University’s faculties, in collaboration with the FSE Connection Lab.
At the UM Supermarket Lab, you’ll investigate the Smart Supercomputer, which helps us invent healthy food that’s also better for nature. Can you and your children join us in our race against the clock to get the Smart Supercomputer finished in time?
Play the games and find the final pieces of data we need. If you succeed, food will become healthier, we’ll waste less of it, and we’ll help protect nature.
