Signing the Barcelona Declaration

Signing the Barcelona Declaration
-

The Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information is an international initiative that calls for greater transparency, openness, and inclusivity in the way research information is created, shared, and used. It promotes a shift away from closed, proprietary systems towards open infrastructures that better support the values of Open Science.

For Maastricht University, signing the Declaration marks an important step in strengthening its commitment to Open Science and to responsible research assessment. By supporting open research information, UM contributes to a more transparent and equitable research ecosystem, one that enables better recognition of diverse academic contributions, fosters collaboration, and reinforces the university’s role in advancing knowledge for society.
