Admission Requirements
Requirements
To be eligible to apply for the Professional Diploma on Privacy Management, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a professional Data Protection certificate
Participants who wish to obtain the Professional Diploma on Privacy Management must hold a professional Data Protection certificate; either the Maastricht University Professional Certificate 'ECPC-B DPO’ - or equivalent.
Candidates who do not hold the ECPC-B DPO Certificate can apply if they hold another relevant professional data protection certification not older than two years and obtained after having attended a training course of at least 32 teaching hours followed by an examination.
- Hold at least a Bachelor degree*
Applicants to the Professional Diploma on Privacy Management are expected to possess analytical and professional skills at a bachelor’s degree level.
*If you are eager to participate in the professional diploma track, but do not hold a Bachelor’s degree, please contact us. Your proven experience with working in the field of privacy, cybersecurity or data governance may grant you access to the programme.
Please note that participation in both courses is mandatory to obtain the Professional Diploma
After applying
After you have applied to the Professional Diploma on Privacy Management we will automatically register you for the chosen dates for the Master Class: Privacy Management and Data Governance and Emerging Issues and Challenges in Privacy and Cybersecurity.
When your payment is fulfilled, you will receive an official confirmation of application and information about the process of writing a thesis or completing an assignment in your organisation.
You will be officially registered as a Maastricht University student after completing both courses and officially starting your thesis or assignment.
Already followed the ECPC-M or Emerging issues?
Applicants who have already completed one or both of the mandatory courses may still apply for the Professional Diploma. Courses completed within the past two years remain valid and do not need to be repeated.
Courses completed more than two years ago must be retaken due to the rapidly evolving nature of privacy, cybersecurity, and data protection.
Please note, even though you will be registered as a student, it is not possible to apply for a (students)visa when participating in this programme
