Title: "Beyond Love: Promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Adolescents in Ghana"

Unplanned teenage pregnancy, with its attendant adverse consequences for the victims, their families, and society remains a public health concern in sub-Saharan Africa.  Consistent use of condoms, together with other contraceptives will not only prevent unwanted pregnancies but also sexually transmitted infections. In practice, this is easier said than done. The studies described in this PhD thesis demonstrate that curbing the menace of teenage pregnancy in Ghana is within reach.  However, sustain efforts to expand young people access to sexuality information and empower girls to be economically independent is necessary.
