INKOM 2026: Adventure of a lifetime

INKOM, the annual introductory week for new students of Maastricht University, Zuyd University of Applied Sciences and VISTA College, will take place this year from Monday 17 August through Thursday 20 August. During INKOM, new students can take part in a wide range of activities, including sports activities, film screenings, workshops, disco bowling, wellness sessions, festivals, and parties. On Monday and Thursday, the daytime programme concludes with a party at the MECC.

The theme of INKOM 2026 is "Adventure of a lifetime". That's exactly what studying is all about: an adventure you'll never forget!

Programme

Monday 17 Augustus
At the INKOM Monday, students will have the opportunity to get to know the city and each other better. In the afternoon there will be an information market on the grounds of the Tapijnkazerne, followed by a Crazy 88 (a city tour with a fun element) right through the city center. In the evening there will be the official opening of INKOM on the Market Square. INKOM cordially invites the city of Maastricht and its inhabitants to get acquainted with the new students. Entrance to the Markt is free of charge.

Tuesday 18 August
Several activities are organised on Tuesday morning. Students can choose from different sports workshops (zumba, yoga, pilates or a workout mix) by UM Sports and/or a communal breakfast. After this, Build your Future will take place. That event introduces new students to what Maastricht and the Euregion has to offer after graduation. They can improve their CV and attend workshops by major companies and organisations from the Euregion. In the evening, there are also multiple activities: student can visit a special evening opening at the Bonnefantenmuseum, during which young artists will exhibit their work. There is also a pub crawl taking in several pubs across Maastricht. For students who prefer a more relaxed evening, there is Pathé Movie Night. The evening will end with a party in the MECC; INKOM-Live!

INKOM 2024

Wednesday 19 August
Wednesday morning starts with a workout organised by UM Sports, followed by some time to unwind during Wellness Wednesday. In the afternoon, the Sports Event takes place at Tapijnkazerne, where students can discover a wide range of sports clubs and take part in the activities they have to offer. From 17.00 onwards, various student organisations will be serving meals. In the evening, the MECC hosts the largest karaoke night in the Low Countries: the INKOM Sing-a-Long. Students can also enjoy disco bowling and games at Olround. The celebrations continue well into the night.

Thursday 20 August
Thursday marks the final day of INKOM 2026. As on Tuesday and Wednesday, the day begins with a workout organised by UM Sports. In the afternoon, students can enjoy live music, a great atmosphere and fun activities at the Summer Valley festival. In the evening, they can get to know student organisations during Sip & Socialise or unwind with a film at Lumière Cinema. INKOM 2026 concludes with the Heineken Night party at the MECC.
