Society faces a number of major challenges in terms of major transitions and trust in politics. In addition, the rule of law is coming under increasing pressure in countries around us, but also here at home. Lawyers play an important role in these challenges. The training of lawyers should therefore respond to these challenges. In his inaugural lecture, Sjoerd Claessens will examine what future lawyers need to learn, how they should learn it, and who should help them in that learning process, in order to train strong lawyers who can play their part in addressing these challenges.
