Update 25 June
Last night a UM building at the Bouillonstraat was daubed with paint and slogans. A sad expression of vandalism. UM has filed a report.

Protest 10 June 2025 - Update 3
The occupation of the university building in Maastricht’s city centre was brought to an end by police at the end of the day. Late in the afternoon, UM was able to establish contact with representatives of the occupiers.

Protest 10 June 2025 - Update 2
UM has still not succeeded in establishing direct contact with the occupiers of the university building at Zwingelput. UM has no insight into what is happening inside the building. The police and the municipality are involved in this and in the next steps.

Protest 10 June 2025 - Update 1
On Tuesday morning, 10 June, the University College Maastricht building on Zwingelput was occupied by protesters. Around 20 individuals are involved. They have blocked the entrances. No other staff or students are currently in the building.

Protest 4 June 2025
On 3 June, pro-Palestinian protesters held a protest march at and inside several UM buildings. Their route included the buildings of UCM, SBE, Law, and the Student Services Centre. The demonstration ended around 14:00.

Protest 20 May 2025 - Update 2
Since early afternoon, the Faculty of Law building is fully accessible again. Between 13.30 and 14.00, pro-Palestinian protesters were present at the entrance to the FASoS building. It is uncertain whether further protests are in the pipeline.

Protest 20 May 2025 - Update 1
This morning, pro-Palestinian demonstrators began a protest at the Faculty of Law. In doing so, they blocked the entrances to the faculty building. UM is speaking with the protesters. The UM approach is clear: we give space to demonstrations where we can, and at the same time we want to safeguard the primary task of the university: providing education and research. In all of this, the safety of those involved is paramount.
