Students, AI and the future of education
How are UM students using AI, and what does this mean for learning and teaching?
Maastricht University's independent news outlet Observant recently spoke to 14 students about how they use AI in their studies.
In a follow up article, Walter Jansen and Elissaveta Radulova responded to the students' experiences and discuss what increasing AI use means for education.
Walter and Elissaveta's message links closely to the thinking behind EDLAB's AI & the Future of Learning project. As Walter puts it: “We want students to develop into autonomous individuals through education.” That means helping students think independently, deal with complexity, evaluate information critically and ask good questions, while also learning how to use AI as a tool.
