FSE STEM Career Day 2026: a record-breaking edition
With nearly 750 registered students and 35 companies in attendance, the FSE STEM Career Day 2026 was the largest and most successful edition to date. Participation surged by an impressive 50% compared to last year, a clear sign that both STEM talent and employers are eager to connect.
The event offered a wide range of career opportunities, with organisations from across the region, the Benelux, and even Switzerland presenting themselves in Maastricht. This diversity of companies highlighted just how varied the career paths of our students can be.
Notably, there was significant interest in students from physics research institutes, such as the institute for elementary particle physics CERN in Switzerland, the Dutch National Institute for Subatomic Physics (Nikhef), and our own ETPathfinder.
Education
But why are FSE students so sought after? The answer lies in their broad education, which prepares them for a future where science, technology, nature, and society are increasingly interconnected. FSE students are uniquely equipped to tackle complex challenges, making them highly desirable to employers.
Vision
The Career Day is part of a broader vision: strengthening the bond between talent and employment in the region. By doing so, it becomes easier for students to build their careers here after graduation, contributing to a sustainable ecosystem where companies, institutions, and graduates grow together.
