"The Inclusion Experiences of Transgender and Gender Diverse Employees"
This dissertation investigates the workplace experiences of transgender and gender diverse employees, who frequently encounter subtle forms of discrimination that are not adequately addressed by organizational policies. Such discrimination negatively affects their mental health and work-related outcomes. The research makes three key contributions. First, it provides a comprehensive review of existing literature and introduces a conceptual framework to better understand the challenges faced by TGD employees. Second, it examines the harmful effects of workplace microaggressions and incivility, including emotional exhaustion and turnover intentions. Finally, it identifies supportive factors—such as inclusive organizational practices, co-worker support, and personal coping strategies—that promote well-being and positive work outcomes. The findings emphasize the need to reduce workplace discrimination and foster supportive environments to improve the mental health and job satisfaction of transgender and gender diverse employees.
