Brussels Hub Activities

The UM Brussels Hub offers a platform and venue for Maastricht University staff, students, and especially researchers to develop and showcase their Europe related activities. The Hub supports the organisation of events that enhance the visibility and impact of UM research, strengthen connections with European stakeholders, and open new opportunities for collaboration across borders. Beyond hosting events, the Brussels Hub co-creates activities with the UM community, helping researchers develop impactful programmes. The team supports programme design, connects organisers with EU stakeholders, and strengthens communication to maximise reach and impact. Discover our current events and initiatives here.

In this video, Dr. Fernando Lit (UM) and Dr. Rachel London (UvA) share how they worked with the Brussels Hub to turn an idea into a multidisciplinary event. From programme design to connecting with EU stakeholders, the Hub supported every step of the process. During their two-day Safe-by-Design visit, researchers explored Brussels’ policymaking ecosystem, engaged with EU experts, and joined networking sessions that fostered new collaborations between research and policy.
