Team Maastricht wins the European Regional Round of the ELSA Moot Court Competition
The Maastricht University team has confirmed the excellent reputation of our Faculty by winning the European Regional Round of the ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law (EMC2) in Wroclaw (Poland).
The team, consisting of Caroline Hammacher, Elli Zachari, Florence Berten and Gerardo Navarro, and coached by Iveta Alexovičová and Denise Prévost, competed against 16 other teams, getting through to the finals where they beat the team from Graduate Institute of Geneva. The team now qualifies for the Final Oral Round in Geneva to be held in June. The Maastricht team also won the prizes for Best Written Submission for the Complainant, Best Written Submission for the Respondent and Best Written Submissions Overall. In addition Elli Zachari won the prizes for best orator in the preliminary round and best orator in the semi-finals.
