Give a coat and warm a heart!
Between 15 and 22 October, the University Library and Match collect coats for homeless people and people living in poverty. Coats can be donated from the 15th to the 22nd of October in the halls of the two University libraries. The action is part of the initiative 'Give a coat and warm a heart' of the foundation Samen voor Maastricht.
The coats are donated to Dress for success, Foundation de Gouwe, Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland, Quiet Community Maastricht, the Voedselbank (Food Bank), Goodwill, the Doorgeefwinkel and the Salvation Army. According to the Samen voor Maastricht foundation, the number of homeless people, adults and children on the edge of society in Maastricht and surroundings is increasing. And living on the streets with a limited social network is tough.
By participating in this action, you can warm up a body ánd a heart. You can write a card and hide it in one of the coat pockets. You can find these cards at the collection points.
The collected coats are sorted and distributed in the MECC on Friday 26 October.
