Many people in the Netherlands are worried and feel uncertain about the future. For them, the event series The Perfect Storm , organised by our Platform for Outreach and Co-Creation (POCC), is well worth attending. Mariëlle Wijermars coordinates the POCC and tells us more about the event.

After a brain injury forced her to put her studies on hold, Imke van der Velden gradually worked towards recovery, completed her Master’s degree and is now pursuing a PhD at VieCuri Medical Centre. She shares her story of resilience and the importance of taking things one step at a time.

Health professionals and other care workers need to cooperate both with one another and with neighbourhood residents, according to UM researchers Arianne Elissen and Anne van den Bulck. As part of the LIME project ‘Working together for healthy neighbourhoods’, they explored how best to do this.

His dissertation, The Forgotten Occupation: Politics, Everyday Life, and Gender in the Luxembourg Occupation Zone in Germany (1945–55) , was recognised for its outstanding scientific quality.

As of Novomber 1, Prof. Dr. Gert-Jan Gruter will be endowed professor of Industrial Sustainable Chemistry & Materials at the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Gruter will be working on sustainable chemistry and materials innovation at the Aachen-Maastricht Institute for Biobased Materials.

Over the next three months, we will be trialling WML’s ‘Be WaterWise’ campaign at the University Library in the city centre and at UMSport.
