Colloquium Doctum Faculty of Law - Bachelor European Law School

This information is for students who would like to start in academic year 2025-2026. Due to the high popularity, the European Law School has transitioned to a numerus fixus programme.

If you do not have the required diploma, or do not meet the additional requirements, you can still qualify for admission by passing an entrance exam (art. 7.29 WHW), the so-called ‘Colloquium Doctum’. If you pass the Colloquium Doctum and submit the requested proof of language proficiency, you will qualify for admission to the bachelor’s programme.

Bear in mind that there is a numerus fixus and passing the Colloquium Doctum does
not automatically guarantee a place in the bachelor programme for academic year

Numerus Fixus

Please note that due to high popularity, the European Law School has transitioned to a numerus fixus programme. This means that there is a fixed number of spots for students, which helps us maintain the quality of education. Admission will be determined by an unweighted lottery system, meaning everyone has an equal chance of being allocated to a place within the programme.

Applicants will receive their personal ranking number on April 15th, 2025. The list of rankings is established in a random order. If you have obtained a spot within the European Law School bachelor, you must redeem your proof of placement in Studielink within two weeks of receiving your ranking.

Based on first-year student intake from previous years, your likelihood of securing a spot is approximately 85%. This means your chances of being accepted remain fairly high, especially since some students who are accepted may choose not to enrol, allowing their spot to go to the next person on the waiting list.
