Anouk Festjens is Assistant Professor at the deparment of Marketing & Supply Chain Management at Maastricht University, School of Business and Economics.

She studied applied economics (Business Engineering) at the KU Leuven. She also obtained her PhD in Marketing at the KU Leuven.  

She studies behavioral decision making at the intersection of psychology and economics. Her primary research focus is on decision-making under risk. For instance, she studies wether individuals make similar decisions under risk when the outcomes are expressed in time versus monetary terms, or how visceral influences (hunger, thirst, sexual craving) influence consumers' choices.

She teaches Consumer Psychology and Consumer understanding and behavior.
