Transforming Cashew Nut Waste into Sustainable, Circular Coatings

The consortium consisting of Cashew Shell Bio Refinery, Maastricht University, and Organik Kimya Netherlands combines chemistry and biomass to create eco-friendly, long-lasting coatings with substrate and polymer recovery potential upon activation, along with self-healing capabilities (circularity). By harnessing a unique component from cashew nut waste, harmful substances like styrene will be replaced, making coatings safer and more sustainable. Our mission: to create coatings for a greener future, minimize waste, and contribute to environmental preservation.
