Leonardo is a PhD candidate in Law at the University of São Paulo (USP/Brazil). His research focuses on the decision-making process for formulating climate goals and the role of procedural instruments in ensuring credibility. He was granted scholarships by Brazilian research agencies CAPES and FAPESP.
He studied law at the Faculty of Law of Vitória and served as a law clerk at the Espírito Santo State Court of Appeal. He holds a master's degree in Law from USP, having written a thesis about the Brazilian National Biofuel Policy (RenovaBio). He has co-authored the book Regulatory Barriers for the Implementation of Brazilian Climate Policies in the AFOLU Sector: Forest Code, ABC Plan, and Renovabio.
