J. Luque Lora

Jaime Luque Lora is a Ph.D. researcher at the Faculty of Law of Maastricht University. His research addresses the constitutional implications of conditionality in EU law. In particular, he examines how conditionality affects the distribution of power between EU institutions, reshapes the relationship between the EU and its Member States, and influences the interpretation of the Union’s founding values.

 

Before beginning his doctoral research, Jaime gained practical experience in EU and competition law through positions at law firms in Spain.

 

He studied law at the University of Navarra, where he also completed programmes in Anglo-American and International Business Law, and spent an exchange semester at Chicago-Kent College of Law. He holds an LL.M. in European Law from Maastricht University and an LL.M. in Legal Practice from UNED, having passed the Spanish bar examination. Jaime also holds a BA in History and Politics from the University of York.
