Successful first edition of the UM Star Show
The Alumni Office of Maastricht University is looking back on a great UM Star Show! The digital event took place for the first time, on 25 March 2021.
Around 700 alumni, students, staff members and external guests enjoyed an interactive live show, in which UM professors Mark Post, Rogier Veltrop, Lisa Brüggen, Katleen Gabriels and David Townend discussed nothing less than the future of humanity. The ‘UM Stars’ were hosted by journalist and alumna Eva de Valk.
Just like with the online UM Alumni Week, we were able to reach a completely new group of (alumni) participants from all over the world; from San Francisco to Salzburg and from Munich to Manchester.
Some reactions
After the event, we received many enthusiastic comments from various visitors. Some examples are:
- ‘‘Very nice format - I really enjoyed the evening and I am looking forward to similar events in the future!’’
- ‘‘Overall great event, makes you proud to be affiliated with Maastricht University.’’
- ‘‘Loved the online format - first time I’ve been able to participate in an alumni event (I live in Canada) and it was great.’’
