Three UM researchers receive YERUN grant to perform research abroad

Three UM researchers have been awarded a Research Mobility Award (RMA), provided by YERUN, the Young European Research Universities network

It is the second time this grant is presented and the aim is to stimulate research collaborations within the YERUN network, that Maastricht University is a member of. YERUN consists of 18 universities at the moment. The Research Mobility programme provides support for researchers to undertake up to two weeks of research at another YERUN partner institution from a different country. YERUN is, next to the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) one of the UM’s two strategic networks. 

From a total of 88 researchers, 36 candidates were selected based on the quality of their research proposal and concrete ideas for future collaborations and publications. The list of successful applicants is published on the YERUN website.

The selected UM researchers are:

  • Dr. Julia Kensbock is an Assistant Professor at UM’s School of Business and Economics, Department of Organization and Strategy. Julia’s research is located at the interface between psychology, management, and entrepreneurship and she will visit the University of Konstanz in Germany
  • Dr. Maja Brkan is Assistant Professor in EU law at UM’s Faculty of law. Maja’s research is focused on data protection, protection of privacy in an electronic environment and the impact of artificial intelligence on the society and on the role of the profession of lawyers. Maja will visit the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Spain
  • Dr. Geneviève van Liere is a postdoctoral researcher at UM and the GGD Zuid-Limburg, in her research she focuses on combining innovative diagnostics and public health practice to optimize sexually transmitted infections control and she will visit Brunel University in the United Kingdom.
