Anita Jansen new dean of FPN
The Executive Board has appointed Anita Jansen as the new dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience, effective as of 1 June 2016 for a period of four years. She succeeds Bernadette Jansma, who will take office as the dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences (FHS) as of that date.
Anita Jansen (December 1960) has worked as a professor of Experimental Clinical Psychology at Maastricht University since 1999. She studied clinical psychology at Utrecht University and obtained her PhD from UM in 1990. In 2011, she received a €1.500,000 Vici grant from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) to research psychological predictors of successful weight loss. Professor Jansen has been a member of the NWO's Divisional Board on Social and Behavioural Sciences since 2014. During her UM career, Professor Jansen has held various administrative roles, including vice dean and department chair. In 2001, she has won Maastricht University's Education Prize.
