The Russian Revolution

To mark the centenary of the Russian Revolution, this illustrated lecture by Orlando Figes will look back on the ways in which the commemoration of the Revolution developed in the Soviet Union between 1917 and 1991. It will explore the role of propaganda myths in Russia's historical memory and discuss what use can be made by Russia today of its revolutionary past.

Orlando Figes is a British historian and writer known for his works on Russian history. He has written eight books, which have been translated into 28 languages.
