Live from Buena Vista, The Havana Lounge

Since the thirties, the district of Buena Vista in Havana has been known as the epicentre of Cuban traditional music. 

Live from Buena Vista – The Havana Loungegives a glimpse of the broad spectrum of styles that come together in and around Buena Vista.

Classics like ‘Chan Chan’ by the Buena Vista Social Club will be presented alongside compositions that are less well-known in Europe. The Havana Lounge is also represented in all areas as far as artists are concerned. 

The core is made up of big stars who have previously performed with the Buena Vista Social Club and/or Afro Cuban All Stars, and they are supplemented by young talented musicians who have dedicated their lives to traditional music.

Visitors to ‘Live from Buena Vista – The Havana Lounge’ will experience traditional Cuban music in the way in which it is intended: live and acoustic. The music’s attraction seems to lie in its mix of cultures; a virtuoso performance that reflects Cuban culture.
