Veerle Barten (V.)

As a Project Consultant at the Expert Centre on Emerging Economies (ECEE), part of Maastricht School of Management (SBE), I specialize in developing and managing international development cooperation and capacity-building projects across emerging economies, with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa and the MENA region. My work revolves around fostering local economic growth and sustainable development through strategic partnerships, innovative programs, and impactful capacity-building initiatives.

Beyond project management, I lead the ECEE's communication strategy, overseeing a diverse portfolio of 30+ projects. My role ensures that project impact is effectively communicated, fostering engagement among stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries.

I hold a Master in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in International Business and Sustainable Development, and a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies.
