School of Business and Economics students recognised as Finalists in REmagine Awards 2025
On 2 December, the REmagine Awards 2025 were presented, celebrating outstanding master’s theses in Economics and Business Administration that combine academic excellence with societal impact. Two students from the School of Business and Economics (SBE) reached the final stage in their respective categories, showcasing the quality and relevance of their research.
From a total of 101 nominees, fifteen students were selected as finalists to present their work for a chance to win one of five awards. SBE’s finalists were Jana Bogena (Broad Perspective on Prosperity) and Eimear McPhillips (Healthy Society).
Impact Beyond the Classroom
The students’ ability to conduct impactful research that addresses pressing societal challenges reflects SBE’s commitment to educating leaders who combine rigorous research with a broad perspective on societal issues.
Eimear McPhillips reflects on her nomination:
"I'm delighted to share that I was selected as a finalist for the Remagine Thesis Awards in the Future Health and Healthcare category. My thesis explored the intersection of housing and health, examining how inadequate housing conditions impact wellbeing and identifying which populations are most vulnerable to living in poor housing.
Attending the awards ceremony was a great experience - it was very inspiring to learn from so many talented and innovate master's students. I'm also very grateful to my supervisor, Michealla Vanore, for all of her support throughout the thesis process.''
For Jana Bogena, finalist in the Broad Perspective on Prosperity category, reaching the finals was both unexpected and deeply meaningful. She described the experience as a valuable opportunity and expressed her gratitude for the nomination, which allowed her to reflect on her academic journey and share her experience as part of the REmagine Awards.
