Jos Welie appointed as new Dean University College Maastricht
The Executive Board of Maastricht University (UM) has appointed Prof Dr Jos Welie as the new Dean of University College Maastricht (UCM). His appointment will take effect on May 1, 2020.
Professor Welie studied Medicine and Law at Maastricht University and Philosophy at Radboud University Nijmegen. In addition to his deanship, he will remain active at the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of Creighton University in Omaha, USA.

Demissionary Minister of Education, Culture and Science Ingrid van Engelshoven will open ETpathfinder in Maastricht this afternoon. The state-of-the-art physics laboratory will serve as a testing ground for the development of technologies for future gravitational wave detectors.
UM President Martin Paul received the badge of honour ('erespeld) of the city of Venlo on 7 September from Mayor Scholten.
