IGIR Updates Research Clusters and Organisation
The Institute for Globalisation and International Regulation (IGIR), which now also includes several former members of METRO, recently presented itself to colleagues in the faculty after implementing an update in, among other things, its management and research profile.
IGIR has a new website and seminar series, a new management team with Dominic Coppens and Niels Philipsen as Co-Directors, and an updated research profile, divided into three research clusters: IGIR & Sustainability, IGIR & Innovation, and IGIR & Competition.
IGIR focuses on the concept of “Trust in Trade”. This serves as overarching focal point for analysing the regulation of global markets and the roles played by national, regional, and international actors and institutions. Research methods include doctrinal, comparative and interdisciplinary (particularly law & economics) methods.
IGIR seminars are held once a month. In addition, the institute organises joint seminars with other research institutes and with colleagues from other faculties at Maastricht University.
Be part of IGIR
Dominic Coppens and Niels Philipsen: “We wholeheartedly invite colleagues who wish to become part of IGIR to reach out to us. We also look forward to welcoming all colleagues to our future events to present their research and participate in our initiatives. We hope that IGIR will strengthen further the collaboration across institutes and researchers at the faculty and at the university."
