What does it mean to be healthy in your view? What does being well mean to you?

UM’s UnliMited-Students Network is organising an interactive lecture by Prof. Caroline van Heugten on Tuesday 15 March 2022. Save the date and join us from 17:00 onwards at the Aula on Minderbroedersberg 4-6 to discuss and lay down some answers to these very same questions. You can also follow the livestream (see below).

In 1948 the World Health Organization defined health as the absence of disease, being free of illness or injury. Is this still applicable in 2022? Let’s observe more contemporary views on health and share experiences. In Caroline’s view, health is a state of well-being. What about you?

Caroline van Heugten is Professor in Clinical Neuropsychology, at the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience, and at the School for Mental Health and Neuroscience at the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences. Moreover she is head of the Limburg Brain Injury Center.

Regarding matters of well-being, UM’s very own Well-being Movement busies itself with providing resources and activities throughout the academic year. Find out more about them by going on their webpage.
